Nano & Advanced Materials

Although nanotechnology is a frequently used term today, its role in human life is becoming increasingly important with its use in all industry and health fields. Nano is one billionth of a meter in size and its word meaning comes from the word "nanos" which means dwarf in Greek. Nanomaterials constitute the cornerstone of nanotechnology, which is an interdisciplinary field that deals with the physical, chemical and biological structures and areas of use of materials of one billionth. These materials, which have unique electrical, magnetic, photonic and optical properties at nano-size, behave differently from macro-sized materials. The reasons for this different behavior are the high surface-to-volume ratios and the quantum effects seen in nano-sized materials. For this reason, it is used in a wide variety of fields such as textile, space and aviation, informatics, composite, electronics, energy, health.
